During your scheduled appointment at an AWS Accredited Test Facility, you will deposit a sound weld that will be inspected by an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). Your ability to properly adhere to the Welding Procedure Specification, selected from available QC7 Supplements, includes fit-up, assembly, and positioning.

The CWI certification should apply to any of your field engineers and or subcontractors that want to be certified as an AWS Certified Welding Inspector. We can conduct the course to the most common codes in industry which include the AWS D1.1, ASME IX and API 1104.

When you obtain your CWI certification, you can easily branch off into other programs and reap additional benefits. In fact, Certified Welding Inspectors who get certified as a Radiographic Interpreter are now exempt from their next 9-Year CWI Recertification Exam.

To qualify as a Certified Welding Inspector, you must pass a vision test and have a combination of qualifying education and work experience, with supporting documentation and you will need to fill out an exam application. The CWI exam consists of three parts, Fundamentals, Practical Applications and Open-Book Code Application.
